Leaders Selection: The Impact of Good Leaders on Society

The Impact of Good Leaders on Society

Unfortunately, we see signs of ethical deterioration everywhere we go today. And we ask ourselves, what is really wrong with the world? The whole trend of this new century seems to be away from ethical values and principles - not toward them. What is more disheartening than man’s puny spirit and man’s strained relationship with nature? I think we should more carefully examine our position in relation to nature and society. Why do we tolerate bad leaders? This is the problem, in a sentence. One must decide how he feels about the future of his family and community before deciding to pick the lesser of two evils. Is this a dilemma, really? Frankly, is there no way out of this?

(1) Why do we tolerate bad leaders?

The good leader does walk in step with the sages. He understands that more needs to be learned. This is because the true leader understands that everyone who wants to grow and help others to grow needs a mentor. Having a mentor can make our chances of success even higher. A good leader seeks disciples. He is the first one to realize that he will not remain in power forever. He has a duty and a responsibility to pass his knowledge on to others. He becomes, then, a mentor. He motivates his team members all the time.

What does a bad leader do? The bad leader sits with fools. He has no knowledge. He does not consider himself a life mentor. Those who want to lead without listening will not work for humanity: they only think about themselves and their political agenda. There is no full dominion over all things. Bad leaders are doing irreparable harm to their coworkers and community as well.

A good leader, on the other hand, has complete self-control. He knows well that integrity pays off. He should not cheat to win. He chooses the right from the wrong, and provides service to the world. Of course, ethical conduct is about self-respect.

(2) The difference between success and failure

Another thing is that the difference between success and failure is a good leader. Good leadership offers forms of contribution that no other activity does. Being a leader, after all, involves the highest responsibility. Good judgement seeks balance and progress; lack of good leaders eventually finds imbalance and discouragement. Good leaders are a vital element in maintaining the peace and creating opportunities for progress in the community. Good leaders are the binding force that guarantees mutual respect and love.
